We do anything we can to make sure our families are safe; holding hands when we cross the road, putting seat-belts on in the car or wearing helmets for bike rides, but how much thought do we give to safety at home? We’re so comfortable in our surroundings that we’re often completely oblivious to potential risks or hazards – and we’re all guilty of that ‘it won’t happen to me’ mindset! (We know we should test the smoke alarm but we’ll just do it later…won’t we?)
It’s when those little accidents do happen that we find ourselves wishing we’d been better prepared – and there are some really simple ways to do it. You might never need any of them (phew!) but if you ever do, you’ll be really glad you thought ahead!
