If you work at home, an untidy office environment can seriously affect your mood and your productivity. Getting the right setup can make all the difference. Here are a few tips to help you create the optimum working environment and hopefully help you boost your productivity!
1. Clear out the clutter!
A tidy desk = a tidy mind, as they say. So store away anything that you don’t use on a regular basis, and have a good clear out at the end of every week. Not only will this help keep your mind in order, but it’ll be easier to find important documents and things when you need them, thereby reducing stress.
2. Get the light right
Try and make sure your home office has as much natural light as possible, but you also need to have at least 2 other sources of light – a general overhead light, and a desk lamp, especially if your work requires fine detail.
3. That personal touch
If your home office is all business, you may not feel at your most comfortable there. It’s part of your home, so it should reflect you. Make your office space more welcoming by decorating it with something that’s personal to you, such as artwork, family photos, inspirational quotes or funky accessories.
4. Filed away
