When getting ready to redecorate it can be really hard to decide which way to go. Do you want contemporary or traditional? Cool and calm or warm and cosy? Are you going for bright and bold or soft and neutral? It’s enough to give anybody a headache – and that’s before the hard work has even started!

The best way to avoid these dilemmas is to make a mood board. Professionals use mood boards to give themselves direction and to pull together a strong look for the room. You can too! It’s not as difficult as it might seem; you’ll have loads of fun doing it and if you can’t decide between two different looks, you can make two different boards to help you make a decision! Better still, you can take a quick snap of your board (or boards) on your phone and take it with you when you head out to the shops. Use it to compare potential new buys with, or ask a shop assistant to help you find items that might fit your theme… easier than trying to explain!

So, let’s get the scissors and glue at the ready – here’s how to bring your ideas to life…
